New paper in Future Oncology!
Wait, what? Yep, it’s not plant evolution this time… but it’s still close to my heart. This paper presents my first ever research on TGCT (tenosynovial giant cell tumor), a joint disease that I was diagnosed with in 2023.
TGCT is a rare disease, and with better understanding of the disease and emerging treatment options, the standard of care is rapidly changing; this manuscript presents the largest ever analysis of patient outcomes, with a cohort of nearly 500 respondents.
It’s hard to overstate how empowering it is to research your own medical condition — which is hugely meaningful, considering how powerless I often feel knowing I will probably be stuck with tumors in my elbow for the rest of my life. I feel eternally grateful to Dr. Sydney Stern of the nonprofit TGCT Support for bringing me onto the project, as well as our expert collaborators at medical institutions around the country and world for giving helpful clinical perspectives.

More to come! Later this year we will present our research on pediatric patients with TGCT at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists.
